We live in a world of instant gratification. We want what we want and we want it now! Unfortunately, these desires lead many people to rack up extensive credit card bills. They get in over their heads and their credit suffers.

Instant Credit Repair?

Then, of course, they go looking for instant credit repair! Instant credit restoration is a myth. While there are certain things you can do to repair credit quickly, the reality is that credit repair does take some time. How long depends on your personal situation.

This is the reason why so many people who attempt do it yourself credit repair fail – they don’t see results quickly enough and move their attention elsewhere. They suddenly believe the credit repair company that is advertising instant credit repair. A few months later, they are on to something else. It is a classic example of shiny bright object syndrome. The problem isn’t that what they are doing isn’t working. It’s that they never stick with a plan long enough to see results.

That is why if you need credit repair, the first step is developing a plan and making a commitment to stick with it. Decide how many hours a week you have to devote to your finances and then add working on your credit to your calendar.

There are several different areas that you need to work on: credit report disputing, developing good new credit, budgeting and developing a second income source. Most people (especially those looking for instant credit repair) don’t consider budgeting and multiple streams of income an important part of credit restoration. But, the reality is that without addressing the source of your problems and making sure that they never happen again, chances are that you will end up right back in the same situation.

Most people have credit problems because they over spent and then didn’t make enough money. Addressing both of these issues is a critical part of a comprehensive credit restoration plan.
While I would love to be able to offer you credit repair secrets that would lead to instant credit repair, I can’t. The truth is that credit repair is like most things in life – work that requires patience and persistence.
